I headed the launch for Apple Card and ran the account subsequently. We felt that Apple Card’s main point of difference was its Appleness. A lot of the banking complexity had been stripped away and the user experience more deeply thought about. We launched with the line ‘Created by Apple, not a Bank’ (although this was later dropped) and kept the design simple, white and Apple-like.
